Step 2 - Reverse Cuban Eight and Half Cuban Eight.

Fixed Wing Gold

The Reverse Cuban Eight is started upwind of the pilot stance and is initiated with an 1/8th loop onto the 45° up line. As the model crosses in front of you, half roll into inverted and continue up the 45° line. This takes you downwind where you fly a 3/4 loop to bring you round onto the opposite 45° up line.

Again, half roll to inverted and continue up the 45° line until the model is upwind of you. Pull a 5/8th loop to bring you back to the horizontal upwind of you.

There are a few things to note. All the part loops should be the same size. The crossover should be directly in front of you and the straight parts should be on the 45° lines. The model should exit the manouevre from where it started.

Once you have completed the Reverse Cuban Eight, continue straight and level well down wind then start the Half Cuban Eight. Pull up for a 5/8th loop which will bring you back (inverted) down the 45° downline. Again, the looping part of the Half Cuban Eight should be the same size as the part loops in the Reverse Cuban Eight. At the same height as the crossover in the Reverse Cuban Eight, half roll upright and continue down the 45° downline. Pull up to return to horizontal. If you have gone far enough downwind, you should have enough time to ensure that you can get your wings level for the next step.
