Step 5 - Humpty Bump.

Fixed Wing Gold

The Gold schedule allows you to execute one of three types of Humpty Bump and you can choose which one you want to do, depending on whether you're dead on track, too far away or too close.

Note that the quarter loops should be the same radii but are not necessarily the same as the half loop over the top.

If you used low rate aileron for the previous rolls, make sure that you are back on the higher rate.

Use the rudder to correct for wind drift on the verticals and over the top.

Clockwise Circuit

Option 1

  1. Pull to Vertical
  2. Half Roll
  3. Half Loop
  4. Pull To Horizontal

This option will reverse direction in the same plane. Use this if no correction is required. You really want to use this if you can as you shouldn't need to correct for wind drift.

Option 2

  1. Pull to Vertical
  2. Quarter Roll
  3. Half Loop
  4. Quarter Roll
  5. Pull To Horizontal

This option will reverse direction with the exit closer to you. Use this if the model is getting too far away from you.

Option 3

  1. Pull to Vertical
  2. Quarter Roll
  3. Half Loop
  4. Quarter Roll
  5. Pull To Horizontal

This option will reverse direction with the exit further from you. Use this if the model is getting too close to you.

Counter-Clockwise Circuit

Option 1

  1. Pull to Vertical
  2. Half Roll
  3. Half Loop
  4. Pull To Horizontal

This option will reverse direction in the same plane. Use this if no correction is required. You really want to use this if you can as you shouldn't need to correct for wind drift.

Option 2

  1. Pull to Vertical
  2. Quarter Roll
  3. Half Loop
  4. Quarter Roll
  5. Pull To Horizontal

This option will reverse direction with the exit closer to you. Use this if the model is getting too far away from you.

Option 3

  1. Pull to Vertical
  2. Quarter Roll
  3. Half Loop
  4. Quarter Roll
  5. Pull To Horizontal

This option will reverse direction with the exit further from you. Use this if the model is getting too close to you.
