Check servos.
-
Servos.
- Each servo must be mounted using the rubber grommets and eyelets supplied with the radio gear.
- Each servo should be secured using the four supplied screws and tightened.
-
Servo arms.
- Each servo arm must be retained using the supplied self-tapping screw and tightened.
- Any unused arms on the servos should be removed.
-
Servo leads.
- Each servo should be plugged into it's appropriate socket in the receiver and pushed fully home.
- Where fitted, servo extension leads must be securely connected. For a suitable method of securing male to female connectors, see Fail Deadly.
- The servo leads should not be stretched.
- All servo leads should be neatly secured in the fuselage.
The receiver.
- The crystal.
- The receiver crystal must be checked for it's operating frequency.
- The crystal is fully inserted into the receiver crystal socket.
-
-
Receiver installation.
- The receiver must be packed in shock-absorbing foam and securely located in the fuselage.
-
Aerial routing.
- The receiver aerial must be loosely run away from the receiver. For a suitable method of getting the aerial out of the fuselage, see Fail Deadly.
- The aerial should run all the way to the tail without "doubling-back" on itself and be secured. For a suitable method of attaching the aerial to the tailfin, see Fail Deadly.
Battery pack.
-
Battery installation.
- The battery pack must be packed in shock-absorbing foam and securely located in the fuselage.
-
Leads.
- The battery pack to switch harness connectors must be securely connected. For a suitable method of securing male to female connectors, see Fail Deadly.
- The battery pack leads should not be stretched.
- The battery pack leads should be neatly secured in the fuselage.
Check switch harness.
- Switch installation.
- The switch harness must be securely located in the fuselage.
-
-
Leads.
- The battery pack to switch harness connectors must be securely connected. For a suitable method of securing male to female connectors, see Fail Deadly.
- The switch harness leads should not be stretched.
- The switch harness leads should be neatly secured in the fuselage.
- The switch harness should be plugged into it's appropriate socket in the receiver and pushed fully home. Many switch harnesses have an integral charging lead for the receiver battery pack. This charging lead usually comes out of the switch through the same hole as the lead which is connected to the battery - ie. the switch harness to receiver lead is the single lead.
