Stage 12 - Beyond The Hover

By the time you have reached this stage, you are a fairly competent helicopter pilot and have come a long, long way from those first tentative 'bunny-hops'. Hopefully your helicopter is still fully functional! Your confidence should be high enough now to remove the training aids.
After the happy day when you remove them, take great care because now the landing skid tracks are much narrower so obviously the old 'dump-it-anywhere'll-do' is now extremely dodgy! You would be well advised to start practicing all the manoeuvres learned to date again and get used to the much greater response of the model.
It is only when you remove the training aids that you realise just what a dog it was to fly before and how much fun you're going to have now! With only a small amount of further practice you will be ready to sit the Bronze Helicopter Safety Award.
