Safety Rules Club Visit Frequency Control Instructors Model Check Learing to Fly

Now that you have finished assembling your model aircraft, it's time to begin to learn to fly it!

We would strongly advise you against trying to start the engine until you are at the flying field, mainly for your own safety but also out of consideration for your neighbours ears! Even the best silenced engine can make a considerable noise in a built-up area.

Different people learn at different rates and there is no race to complete this training course. The most important lesson to be learned is on the ground -

Think Safety All The Time.

Model aircraft can be lethal weapons and are capable of very serious injury. The S.A.A. Safety Code is for everyone's benefit and our Club enforces it's recommendations. If you don't fully understand the reason for specific rules, please ask your instructor who will be happy to explain them to you. If you have any suggestions for improving safety at our field, please voice them and they will be considered seriously for adoption. This all sounds very dictatorial but all the rules are basic common sense. By following them, you will get a lot of enjoyment from this hobby and no-one will get hurt.
