Safety Rules Club Visit Frequency Control Instructors Model Check Learing to Fly
Your flight training is in several parts and will take as long or as short a period as required to become proficient. If you don't understand anything-ask! If you're not confident in a manoeuvre-repeat it until you are.
Another valuable tip is that when you are learning to fly, you will be using all your powers of concentration. If at any point you feel your concentration wavering or the model becomes disorientated, tell the instructor immediately and he will resume control.
We run a course of continuous assessment and as you successfully complete each stage to your and the instructor's satisfaction, you will be signed off as being trained up to that level. This is a great way of seeing the progress that you are making towards your goal of flying solo.
It is generally easier to learn to fly if you can get lessons regularly.
Finally, remember the old pilot's adages -
- There are old pilots and there are bold pilots but there are no old, bold pilots!
- All new manoeuvres should be attempted at an altitude of three mistakes high!
